Restricted Fire Zone

Fire Ban in Effect – Starting 12:01 a.m. Saturday, July 18

The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has expanded the Restricted Fire Zone to include our area due to high to extreme fire hazard conditions, increased wild land fire activity, and current fire load.

Effective Saturday, July 18 at 12:01 a.m.:

NO open-air burning is permitted, including:

• Campfires

• Brush burning

• Burn barrels

• Any other open-air fires

These restrictions are in place to help reduce the risk of human-caused wildland fires and protect our community, neighbouring communities, and our forests.

Please respect the fire ban and help spread the word by sharing this post.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Please Respect Road Closed Signs

We ask all residents and visitors to stop driving through Road Closed signs and entering work zones while road construction is underway.

When paving equipment and crews are actively working, the road is closed for everyone's safety. Driving through these areas puts construction workers, equipment operators, and motorists at serious risk of injury.

In addition, driving on freshly placed asphalt before it has properly cooled and cured can:

Damage the new pavement and create ruts, marks, and uneven surfaces.

Reduce the quality and lifespan of the road.

Result in costly repairs and project delays.

Road closures are in place for a reason. Please follow all posted signs, barricades, and directions from construction personnel. Your cooperation helps keep everyone safe and ensures the new roadway is completed properly.

You must get a fire permit if you wish to have an open-air fire between April 1st and October 31st of each year.
